A Quick History of UConn

Founded in 1881, UConn has been known as Storrs Agricultural College (named for its founders, Charles and Augustus Storrs), Connecticut Agricultural College, Connecticut State College and finally the University of Connecticut.

As the university has grown, it has seen many changes, including the addition of graduate-level programs, sports venues and state-of-the-art learning facilities. However, many of the university's historic buildings have been preserved.
